Esencia-Wines was born in 2012 after the fusion of two wineries from the Jumilla P.D.O. (Hacienda del Carche and Casa de la Ermita), with the main aim of allowing visitors to discover the distinctive wines of the region. Our wines are produced in-house through an innovative, meticulous and delicate winemaking process, designed to delight consumers and to promote the wines of Jumilla.

Jumilla is a land characterised by low rainfall and rocky soils, where ideal conditions allow vigorous vines and perfectly ripened grapes to thrive. These characteristics enable us to produce wines with great texture, body and strong personality.

The main grape varieties we work with are Petit Verdot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Tempranillo, Merlot, Syrah, and our most cherished variety, Monastrell, which has adapted exceptionally well to the land and climate of Jumilla.

Our wines are produced in our own winery, Esencia Wines Cellars, located at over 700 metres above sea level, in an outstanding natural setting surrounded by vineyards in the heart of the Sierra del Carche. This unique location provides the perfect environment for crafting Jumilla wines that reach levels of near excellence.

All our wines under the Jumilla Designation of Origin comply with strict quality and environmental certifications. We take great care of our natural surroundings, with the aim of offering the finest wines from the land of Jumilla. With a unique flavour profile, we guarantee full traceability and control of every stage of production, as well as the safety and quality of each of our wines.

Today, Esencia Wines offers several wine brands, including emblematic labels such as Casa de la Ermita, Taus and Cepas Viejas, as well as more recent additions like Lunático and Infiltrado.

In 2018, Esencia Wines fulfilled a long-held dream by making a strong commitment to wine tourism through the creation of the Hacienda del Carche Casa de la Ermita Wine Museum. Its main objective is to share our passion for wine culture with visitors from all over the world, bringing together past and present. After years of effort, dedication and enthusiasm, this project became a reality, helping to showcase and preserve the rich history and wine culture of Jumilla.
