Ontur
Home to 1,987 people, Ontur lies in the southern part of the Albacete region. Lose yourself along the trail in the northern Sierra del Madroño, where you can discover a picnic area, a scenic viewpoint, a natural spring, and pine groves. A stone’s throw away, the Airfield facilities serve as the regional hub for aerial sports, whose main festivities are held in honour of Saint Joseph from 17 to 21 March.
When it comes to its rich gastronomy, you’ll find hearty dishes like rice with chicken and rabbit, gachas de mataero, migas, and gazpacho manchego, as well as refreshing summer mojetes—all guaranteed to delight your palate.
Ontur is famously known for the Roman dolls, which were discovered in a child’s grave within Las Eras necropolis. One of them was made of amber, while the other four were carved from ivory.
