Description

JUMSAL has been operating the La Rosa salt diapir for over 50 years, located in the valley formed between Cabezo de la Rosa and the Sierra del Carche. These saltworks, dating back to Roman times, are part of the Natura 2000 Network, are also a Site of Community Importance (SCI), and form part of the Sierra del Carche Regional Park.

Visitors can enjoy a privileged natural setting and observe how mining activity is carried out by combining traditional natural crystallisation methods with the most modern techniques, producing high-purity salts while always respecting our strong commitment to environmental protection.

Salt is far more than something added to food to enhance flavour. People, animals and even plants need salt to thrive. Even when not consumed, salt plays an essential role in improving water quality, making winter safer and in many other uses that you can discover by visiting us.
For all these reasons, JUMSAL proudly represents:

History: Since Roman times, the Salinas de la Rosa have supplied humanity with “white gold” and even gave rise to the word “salary”. Throughout history, people have depended on and valued salt.

Nature: Located in the heart of the Sierra del Carche, a source of wild and natural life. A true natural gem that deserves to be discovered and preserved.

Sport: Actively supporting and participating in the Barbudo Trail.
