Wine and Cheese Harmony
This activity consists of various tasting pairings of a selection of Murcian and Manchego cheeses and wines from the wineries of the Jumilla Wine Route, led by sommelier Guillermina Sánchez Cerezo. In addition, the activity aims to promote cultural and historical heritage, so the tastings are preceded by guided tours of monuments or historical sites.
Wine and cheese are two of the fundamental elements of the Mediterranean diet. At the event, it was possible to see firsthand that cheese can be accompanied by any wine, not only reds but also whites, rosés, and sweet wines. The important thing to unite wine and cheese is to achieve a balance between them through acidity, freshness, sweetness, fruitiness, tannins, and textures. Wine and cheese are products resulting from fermentation, and their aromas surprisingly meet and complement each other.
