The Jumilla Wine Route offers the possibility of taking a gastronomic tour through a region with a great culinary tradition and unrepeatable flavors, since, if something characterizes these territories, in addition to their excellent DOP Jumilla wines, it is undoubtedly their gastronomic richness. Its cuisine is the product of continuous cultural influences throughout history, as well as its location between the lands of Murcia and La Mancha, which have given rise to its most typical dishes: Manchego gazpacho, gachamiga, rabbit in patagorrina, broad beans with onion, potato pies, fried goat cheese with tomato, rice and rabbit with snails, fritillas, mortirigüelo or trigoentero, the latter a Lenten meal typical of Holy Thursday. As for traditional sweets, travelers can taste authentic delicacies such as sequillos, wine rolls, pirusas, cristóbalas, arrope, manteca cakes, flowers and sweet panecicos.
