Welcome to La Ruta del Vino de Jumilla
La Ruta del Vino de Jumilla (Jumilla Wine Route) winds through the northeast of the Murcia Region and the southern part of Albacete province. This land has a rich winemaking tradition dating back to the Iberian period. Moreover, archaeological excavations have uncovered vitis vinífera remains over 5,000 years old.
Since August 2005, the route has been part of the Rutas del Vino de España network. Created in response to the growing interest in wine tourism, it offers an unforgettable experience exploring the culture, history, and flavors of Jumilla wine.
Jumilla was the first city within the Jumilla P.D.O. to launch this project. Since then, the route has grown rapidly, expanding to include Fuente-Álamo (Albacete) in 2019, Montealegre del Castillo and Ontur in 2020 and finally, Tobarra and Hellín in 2021.

The route continues growing, not only in terms of the cities involved but also through the development of activities, experiences, and events related to the world of wine. From the very beginning, we offer visitors the chance to immerse themselves in the culture, traditions, and customs of an authentic wine region. Exploring the vineyards, visiting wineries to learn about the winemaking process, enjoying a stay at charming rural accommodations, savoring exquisite wines, and tasting authentic local cuisine in restaurants and shops: these are just some of the experiences Jumilla and the route offer, alongside the opportunity to discover the region’s rich natural, cultural, and historical heritage.

The purpose of La Ruta del Vino de Jumilla is to promote wine tourism across the territories that make up the P.D.O. Jumilla. Joining this project is a fantastic opportunity to showcase your town or business. Our initiative is part of Rutas del Vino de España, endorsed by ACEVIN and supported by Turespaña, as well as the P.D.O. Jumilla Regulatory Council.
With more than 50 businesses, we contribute to the economic, social, and cultural development of the region. This is supported by initiatives such as tourist signage, regular quality audits, advertising campaigns, public relations, training programs, and promoting awareness for a more sustainable and environmentally friendly tourist destination.
